DEALING THE CARDS

You may wish to seat yourself to the immediate left of the person who has been betting the most, you may find this saves you some money! Ideally, you should place yourself to the immediate left of the big blind(the third seat to the left of the Dealer button). This way you don’t have to put in an extra stake to see a hand you will more often than not need to fold.

Once you are ready to play a starting hand, call or raise depending on the Starting hands tables and wait for the flop.

The Flop: the flop consists of three community cards that are dealt onto the table face up so everyone can see them. You, and everyone else, may use these cards to improve your hand. So if you had an A(ce) and a J(ack) for instance and the flop comes A, 4, 8- you will have the top pair available which is a pair of Aces. To see all the possible hands you can make please have a look at the table located here. Another useful tool at this point is a pot odds calculator, you can find one here, it will tell you how likely you are to improve your hand in detail. So depending on your hole cards, it will tell you the odds of you getting a straight or a flush etc.

After the flop is dealt there is another round of betting before the turn card is dealt.

Next, the turn and the river
